I have just installed Fedora on to a system with a P4PE mobo with a
single sata hd. The install seemed to go fine but when the system
rebooted the bootup reported "Disk Boot Failure, Insert System disk and
hit enter"
Unlike my P4800 there does not seem to be a way to indicate a sata
device. In the bios setup there is no selection for SATA as boot
device. I had seen someone suggest selecting SCSI, this did not work.

Any help would be most appreciated

Try playing with the "Onboard ATA Device First" option. Also, you might
need to configure the RAID setup on the controller to treat the disk as
a JBOD drive instead of thinking it is part of a non-existent array.

robert,

thanks, I got the drive working by setting it up as a stripe drive
using the raid controller. I know next to nothing about raid
controllers. Should I have set it up as a stripe? It seemed that I had
to select stripe or mirror and the later did not sound right.
Also, since the drive is a ATA150 will the controller effect the
throughput?

Thanks again for your help

john
