sata on xp pro

Is it possable to install only one sata drive as my main drive if so what
type of raid 0,1 ?? new to all this sata stuff hope some one can help

Yes you can have a single SATA disk.

No RAID with one disk, set it (RAID) to off in BIOS.

Yes, you can have only one hard disk in a computer and yes, it can be a serial ATA device.

RAID uses two hard disks.

its a new install of xp on that drive so will it still want the drivers or is
that just for raid
 
Alot of the newer motherboards do not need the RAID drivers if you are just
installing one SATA drive.
The Manual that came with your mobo should tell you this...thats what
manuals are for.
As an example on my older ASUS mobo I needed to copy the SATA drivers to a
floppy and let XP install them during setup...RAID included.
On my present ABIT mobo I had to do no such thing unless I wanted RAID.
