Sata Drivers MS-7187

Hi,

Would These Drivers Work With XP or just vista because the Computer has no OS atm and it's going to be installed with XP.

Thanks,

Wiz

Hi,

Thanks for your reply.

This computer does not have a floppy drive init, so am I able to do it from a pen drive when pressing f6 during xp install?

Thanks,
Wiz

I don't think you can use USB mass storage devices to load drivers during initial installation.

Do you really need the raid drivers to install the OS? Sometimes there is a compatibility setting in the BIOS that will allow Windows to detect the drive during the intial install (something like "RAID autodetect/ATA" under SATA operation).

If not, you could always slipstream the drivers to the install CD.

Hi Ian,

Thanks for your reply.

I know sometimes you can trick the bios into thinking that its IDE when its SATA, I have got it booting with Vista 32BIT installed on, but the problem is the people need it with XP on it. When I go ahead with the XP install it gets to a point where it says that no hdds detected.

Any ideas.

Thanks,

Wiz

I suggest you to change bios setting for sata to operate as IDE. different bioses names it in different ways, but you can find it near sata parameters.
