SATA Drive Failed

I have a Dell GX280 3.2 which was running fun until I was doing some
sound editing on it and the sound became choppy so I restarted the
computer and it would not load it said there was no drive available or
something like that.

Anyways, I go into BIOS and it recognizes that the SATA Drive is there
(its the only HD installed) but still won't load. I've changed setting
etc and nothing.

I put the drive in my custom 2.7 and BIOS sees the drive again but when
Windows loads the drive isn't there or in the Dis Management and it
should be.

How can I fix a problem like this? I have data on the drive I need to
get. Thanks.

You may need to install sata/raid drivers for hd to be seen, in disk
Management, in other pc.
Use the hd manu checking utility, available on their site

I've already done all that, its not the drivers it is the drive.

Is there a way to fix a drive that has failed? Or salvage data off
without doing a head transplant? I downloaded Maxtors Powermax and it
found the drive and verified that it failed and gave me some code that
doesn't seem to mean anything on maxtor.com de99a0100. Anyhow, any
more information would be appreciated, thanks!

If the drive has failed and you *need* the data send the hd to a recovery
specialist. There are plenty advertised, eg ontrack. Usually no recovery no
fee - can be pricy
