I was wondering how a person can check to see if the hard drive that is
installed is SATA, without taking the cover off. I was looking around
Device Manager and noticed that my SATA drive shows as being on the primary
IDE channel, under IDE controllers. (BTW, I know I have an SATA drive, cause
I've had the cover off.) Just curious. Thanks for any reply.

On my own computer, I can see it in the bios under drive configuration.

Device Manager shows the exact type of installed drive(s). Look that up
(Google works well) and you will know.
