SATA converters on DVD Drives

Seen these ATA to SATA converters on ebay,. will they work with DVD Readers
and burners?

You obviously have some regular IDE ATA connectors - use those for
your DVD burners and CD drives and put the hard disks on the SATA
using the coverters. They may work and most claim theyll work with CD
and DVD drives. The problem is - in the past , Ive only had problems
when I tried to put CD and DVD drives on any extra controllers even if
they were regular IDEs like the highpoints on ABIT and Promise on
ASUS. I even tried it on a Promise controller card .
