SATA converter

Has anyone used an "IDE to SATA" converter with an IDE hard drive?
There is one made by the Sewell Direct Company (part number SW 1615)
that connects to the rear of an IDE HD and converts the connection to
fit a SATA plug.

Yes, several. All had problems.
