sata boot drive issue

I just noticed in computer management that I have a hard drive listed as
being offline with a failed status. No letter designation appears for the
drive but the drive is the same capacity as my WD sata system drive (149 g).
This c drive is listed and it is reported as healthy.

My computer is an aus ane-e motherboard with an amd64 3000 cpu, 2g crucail
ram, an nvidea 6600gt video card, one additional 300g sata for video
storage and a 122g Maxtor IDE drive for general storage. I am using windows
xp professional with all service packs.

Any idea of the cause for this and correction paths? Should I just delete
the volume?

Thanx for any help in advance?

Disable RAID in your BIOS. Also, putting an IDE drive on the first
IDE port can cause weird designation problems with a SATA boot
drive. In every modern system I build up now, I make sure to only
have one large SATA drive, and one DVD-RW combo drive on
the 2nd IDE port. I partition the SATA C: D: for disk imaging, and
I'm good to go for about anything.
