I'm looking to buy a Sata-2 disk shortly, but the only SATA cables I can
find are all rated as being SATA-150 ...

Am I setting myself up for a bottleneck by using a one of these or are
there cables specifically for use with SATA-2 drives that I have simply
missed?

Or is there simply no difference ? :-)

According to page 16, the objective is to be able to use the
same cables at 1.5 or 3.0Gb/sec. (But I don't plan on reading
the whole 187 page doc :-) )

I think http://www.serialata.org is the main site.

The SATA-2 specs call for the same cables as the original SATA interface.
The interface has been around for so little time that people have not got
round to changing the paperwork. As for a 'bottleneck', the fastest drives
on the market, still only use about half the speed available from SATA,
let alone SATA-2. The gain from SATA-2, only comes on transfers to the
internal buffer memory. The interface is being upgraded, to keep ahead of
expected speed gains in the next couple of years, not to provide greater
performance now.

Ive just got a sata 2 cable ( belkin ) from here :

www.dabs.com/uk/productview?quicklinx=2TXH

No mention of any special properties for F2N1169b18INCH here ?
Perhaps you could ask DABS to clarify.

Belkin SATA cables:

Now, here is shopping.com doing the same kind of thing:
http://www.shopping.com/xPF-Belkin_Belkin_serial_ATA_2_0_cable_18_inch

"The 18-inch Right-angle Serial ATA 2.0 Cable from Belkin offers
optimal internal-CPU connectivity using the ATA technology. The
shielded cable comes in a slim, compact design that reduces
clutter, and improves flexibility and installation ease within
the computer case. With Serial ATA 2.0 interface, it delivers a
high data transfer rate of up to 150 MBps. It also improves
airflow and reduces EMI/RFI. The cable meets Serial ATA 1.0
standards and maintains software compatibility with most of
the operating standards."

And likely whiter teeth and fresher breath...

And here is some kind of admonishment from the standards people.
I've never heard of their SATA II committee:
