hi all,

i bought a new drive sata 160gb (seagate). but i found there is only
about 150gb after installed win xp. i put all the Motherboard driver
and download the latest service pack 2 and the seagate drive
utility(which modified the registry value--enable48bit lba) but still
the same.

any idea?

Urk, this font is awful.

Thats normal, the drive sized is stated
by seagate in decimal GBs and XP reports
the size in binary GBs.
i put all the Motherboard driver
and download the latest service pack 2
and the seagate drive utility(which
modified the registry value--enable48bit lba)
but stillthe same.
any idea?

See above.

It's because we use wo different counting systems, decimal and binary
149GB ~ 149*1024*1024*1024 ~ 160GB (decimal as in 160*1000*1000*1000)
