When I try to scan anything into my system, I receive a drop down which says "destcomp msxml not registered" What does this mean and how do I go about fixing it so that I can use the scanner?

what scanner are you using? make and model ? what software are you using ? what OS ?
 
I've got a HP 5610 officejet all-in one using HP siftware on a Win Xp home System. This problem is really causing this old Marine a ration of #$%^&.
Any help would be worth a Semper Fi !!!!!
