Greetings,

I am having problems removing the power cable from my Sapphire Atlantis
9800. I don't want the splitter lead that's in my card, but its so hard to
wiggle out, seems stuck. . .are they glued?

I have done a new build with all the cables wrapped, so I don't want this
ugly cable, instead I want to use a nice wrapped cable direct from the PSU.
.. .

Any ideas? I'm scared to rip-off the Molex power socket :(

If you're doing this just for looks why bother? Do you really think its
worth ripping off? Get some cable wrap and wrap it up if it concerns you
that much...

The splitter on my Crucial 9800 Pro is also like this, I wanted to
replace it with a shorter one but no way can I get that thing to budge.
:(

No obvious signs of glue or mechanical fixing, but I just gave up and
left it there, didnt want to rip the socket off the board!

Hi,
Oh dear, I really don't want that average power-splitter in my
windowed-case. Think I may ask Sapphire for help in removing it.

Give it a squirt of WD40 and leave for a few minutes. A bit of corrosion by
the sounds of it especially with BIG amps flowing.

Hi,

just a quick note to say I sorted it. All I needed to go was shove a
flathead screwdriver down the side and *lever* it a bit. . . just popped
out!
