Do you get the boot screen at all? I am assuming you do if you reloaded XP.

Try using the 3.7 Catalysts, then see if it persists. How long are you
waiting, after the screen goes blank, before hitting the reset button?
There is about a 30 second delay in the driver load, for some reason, with
the 3.9's and 3.10's on my 9800XT. During which time, the screen goes into
powersave mode. This is right after the XP logo screen and before the login
screen appears.

Hi Strontium.

I have tried and tried and windows now starts after i have unplugged the
soundcard - how strange.
My problem now is that windows starts with the 3.9 driver and omega too but
every change on the drivers properties results with a message of VPU
recover.
It says it sets back 3d accelerator.

That way its absoulutly not possible to use the card for a game for ex.

I will now try the 3.7 driver an tell the results immediately.

Thanks

I have the same problem with a Sapphire 9600 pro 128mb with both the
Catylist 9.9 and the 9,10 drivers. Orginally it would boot to XP desktop,
then as the mouse moved it would leave artifacts all over the screen, until
the screen would start to jitter with multiple images from bottom to top.
Mouse would freeze requiring the PC to be reset. After a few resets the
message appearred that the videocard was not working and the card was reset.
After that the XP logo and the dos bootscreen would also jitter and smear
across the screen, and next the monitor would hibernate (black screen) for
hours if I left it on. I put my Ti 4200 back in the PC. No problems.
