I've run SAP GUI 6.40 patch 18 with Windows Vista RC1 (build 5600) reasonably
successfully. I run SAP GUI under a standard userid. The gotchas I've noted
so far are:
a) When the backend wants to launch a graphical tool such as SE51 and
Graphical Screen Painter, it fails. It queries the frontend to get the
version of Windows that is running, and does not recognize Vista. This is
going to need an update to backend routines, as the error is not in the
frontend.
b) Popup boxes don't fill out until you move the cursor into the box. Until
then, all you see is the outline of the popup window.
c) Some portions of the SE80 display fail to display; they stay white/empty,
even if you run the cursor through it.
d) ABAP online help (via PF1) pops up its window but the right hand side
pane stays white/empty.
e) Whenever you start SAPLOGON, Vista gives a message about a remote system
trying to contact your PC. I click "OK", and the SAPLOGON starts OK. When you
do this from a standard user, you have to give the userid and password for
the administrator account.
