I was thinking of taking this class. I know the basics of a PC--I've
installed a 2nd hard drive, and a cd-writer (with some problems), but
do not know what to do if a computer won't boot. SMC does not give much
info about the class. I do not want a very basic class that tells you
"make sure the power cord is plugged in".

You should contact the College.

Please limit the excessive cross-posting, your message
wasn't even on-topic for a few of the forums.

The college gives NO EMAIL for questions about clases. I will try to
call but I am very busy and will probably be passed around a bunch of
people who don't really know the answer.

I did try to pick appropriate groups--I picked the groups because all
had a lot of messages about PC-fixing after doing several searches.

I'd expect you can find a basic description of the class
*somewhere*, perhaps even the instructor's name if you have
further questions.

If you are too busy to call, you're too busy to take the
class. Problem solved.

la.jobs and microsoft.public.windowsxp.general were
unquestionably, not appropriate groups. Asking a question
about a local college in a global forum is a bit
inappropriate too. Please spare us the BS. FWIW, you'd
probably have better luck asking in a forum local to Santa
Monica, not a worldwide usenet forum.
