I am using a SanDisk 1 Gig Flash Card which I cannot make fixed.
Using the ATCFWCHG utility with the /p /f switches i get:
A:\> atcfwchg /p /f
NAND Athens ID Drive Config word (Fixed/Removable) Ghange Utility
Version 1.4
SANDISK SDCFB-1024
1 MB 0719
FAIL (ERROR #0)
FAIL (ERROR #1)
On bootup the drive comes up as:
Detecting IDE Primary Master SANDISK SDCFB-1024
and using FDISK option 4 my drive looks like:
Partition Status Type ... MBytes
C:1 A Primary DOS 977
The copyright on the CF shows an 03 date. Is it possible that I should
be using the older utility? (I bought this card a couple of weeks ago
at Staples) If the Industrial ones are more reliable, faster and are
default fixed maybe I should just buy a couple of them. I don't want
unhappy customers . Where can I buy industrial versions?
I'll send an email to Tuan Dinh Hoang but I was wondering if anyone
else hit this yet.
Thanks,
Brendan
