I'm thinking of ordering the HDD in the subject line as it is only $99.00
CAD at NCIX. Is it a good HDD? I read it is quiet which is important to me.

Quiet, produces not too much heat. A bit slower than some other
current disks, but not too much.

Garrot:
Assuming you're referring to the Samsung T133 series - we've worked with
three (as I recall) of those 300 GB drives over the past few months and
they've performed admirably. As to Arno Wagner's comment that they're "a
slower than some other current disks', that has not been our experience.
Aside from the WD Raptor line of SATA drives, we've not found any
appreciable performance difference between the Samsungs and other SATA-II
(SATA-IO) HDs.

Thanks for the responses. I've gone ahead and ordered it. This is the one I
am getting but it says nothing about T133.

It needs benchmarks to show. Maybe 15% in raw speed, i.e. unnoticeable
in practice.

Thats a T133.

Arno

Ok, thx. I'm looking it up now and I see that 133 refers to how many GB's
each platter can hold. 133GB would be for the 400GB model though but both
the 300GB and 400GB models use the same technology.
