I have an HP Pavilion with a Samsung SW 224B CD-RW in
it. I wipped the hard drive and installed XP home on it
and now the Samsung CD-Rd is not installed? When I open
My Computer the CD Icon is not displayed?
Has anyone else seen this and how do I fix it.
Thank you alll,
Roger

When I go into add new hardware, the drive has a bang
sing on it. So the computer knows the drive is there,
but it will not set it up for use.
Thanks ,Roger

When I run the add/remove hardware program from the
control panel and select the discover attached hardware.
I see the Samsung CD-RW in the listing with a yellow bang
sing on it. Therefore I figure XP know the drive is
attached or it wouln't have put the bang sign on it.

Go into the Device Manager and find the CD driver with the yellow
exclamation point sign (NOT sing... !!!!!) on it.

Right click and select Uninstall.

Reboot the PC.

XP should reinstall the drivers for the device.

You can sing to it all you want, but I doubt it will do much. Even if you
sing in tune, with a software program for voice recognition, I'm pretty sure
XP will take no notice of you whatsoever.
