Have recently had to reinstall Win XP Pro, the above is recognised, but will
not read or write data either via Win XP or Roxio.

It worked perfectly before.

Any ideas?

Thanks

I thought samsung hd were classed V,or P series,M?
Is the hd formated, slave, does it have a letter,is it
recognized in my computer, the info you listed is vague.
If its a slave,re-format it in recovery, boot from xp cd,
in rec. type:FORMAT D:/FS:ntfs
Type:EXIT when thru,if the hd has a letter,open cmd,
type:CHKDSK D: D: being the hd,ntfs the file system,one
other question, why are you useing third-party software
when xp doesnt require,or need it.Youre only confusing
the OS.

The way it is sounding, the Samsung SM308B drive appears to be a CD-R/CD-RW
drive. Paul had mentioned Roxio, which is the manufacturer of EZ CD
Creator.

Y.

It is a combo CD/CDR/DVD drive.

Any help out there?
