So this was news to me tbh. I cant say I've noticed any issues with mine, It only affected odler data that was written longer ago. Maybe thats why BF4 'feels' like it takes longer to load and not just because its BF4?

Anyway read on. :)

As reported several weeks ago, a number of users (including yours truly) were experiencing slow read performance issues with their Samsung 840 EVO SSD. At the time, the issue was just discovered by various Samsung 840 EVO owners and Samsung was still working on a fix to the issue. As of yesterday, Samsung provided us with an early firmware update that appears to help fix the issue.

Yep - right here! I haven't noticed any lack of performance but thanks for the heads-up! I'll apply the fix later just in case...

Me too, although I've not noticed any problems with the drive. I'll apply it anyway :).

Cheers for the heads up V_R!

So I've done mine, took about an hour I think? Didn't really time it. But, I do notice a difference, boot up is faster, I now realise that it had slowed down. :thumb:

Still not as fast as I'd like looking at that, will need to do more playing! Buts it seems plenty fast in the real world.

So theres a bug with the default HD Tune settings. Change it to 8MB in settings for a true result....
