I downloaded and installed this great Beta program a
couple of days ago and everything seems to work fine but I
have a question. Everytime I run the program it detects the
same two spywares. One says something about a hijacker and
the other a P2P networking thing. I don't have the exact
info as I'm not at home right now. Is it that they aren't
being removed as the program says, or are they simply re-
infecting my computer each time I go on the net?

I have had no problems with a slowdown on the net or with
any programs I run and no web page problems or pop ups, so
all "seems" well. I also use Adaware and have Adwatch
running when I'm on the net.

Any help greatly appreciated,,,Steve

Because p2p programs such as Kazaa, Overnet, Bearshare are known to harbour
Viruses and spyware, its likely that MSAS will detect these program as
spyware. However you can always ignore:
1. Choose "Tools" - "Settings".
2. In the left pane, click on the "Spyware Scan" button
3. In the right pane, underneath "Ignored spyware threats", check the
ignored threats you wish to remove from the list, and then click the
"Remove" button.

Note that performing this task does not remove the potential threat from
your system; you will have to do another spyware scan to determine whether
or not the threat still exists, and if you wish to neutralize it.

Thanks for the response and the advice.

I got rid of Kazaa a few months back and even used a
program called Kazaabegone to help remove all of it.

I know it did not though as when I first ran this new
Microsoft spyware tool, it found 3 kazaa references,
which I removed. I will keep trying..Thanks again.

Let us know what the repeated detection is. It could be a continuing
infection (i.e. it isn't properly cleaned)--or it may be some other issue.

The general rule with repeat infections is to restart in safe mode and do
full deep scans until one comes through clean--usually two.
