Same problem from IE6 to IE7 (hard to explain see post)

I had no reason to upgrade to IE 7 but I did when some web pages were
behaving abnormally. I click and nothing happens. If I use Firefox
or another browser, there is no problem.

For example, if I go to this webpage: http://www.dslreports.com/ and
I click on Forums, I get a yellow exclamation mark on the right hand
corner with the error message: object expected line 192 char 1.

This problem happened recently, perhaps when I used a registry cleaner
program but it's hard to say. I can't recover those files that I
deleted.

The steps I have taken is used CC Cleaner to clean out all my temp
files, history, and typed URLS. I do have my cookies in tact that
have my log-in info and passwords stored but this problem happens
using somebody's elses profile too. Therefore, it is not limited to
the personal settings.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Hi,
For the "object expected" message, if the pages are displaying OK...
From IE> Tools> Internet Options> Advanced... Check "Disable script
debugging" and uncheck "Display a notification about every script error."

For the non-functioning links problem...
You may have an incompatible browser add-on.
See: http://www.enhanceie.com/ie/troubleshoot.asp
for troubleshooting information.

The troublesome program may not show up as an add-on. Disable other
security, privacy, ad-blocking programs to see if one of them is causing the
problem. Any program that interacts with Internet Explorer could be causing
this. The connection with IE may not be obvious, such as Google Desktop.

A firewall will probably not be causing this problem, but *be sure* to turn
on the Windows Firewall from Control Panel> Windows Firewall before
disabling a third-party firewall or security suite during testing.

Hope this helps,
Don
