Just been out to a place called Tynemouth today, and it has been a lovely sunny say...

...apart from the 30 minutes of the heaviest rain I have ever seen....

It went from warm and sunny to rain to sun in no time, and all of the roads and streets flooded! Take a look at this picture, taken 5 minutes after lovely weather! (attached). The water was about 9 inches deep on the main roads, as it had basically turned into a river!

wow

that is quite amazing!

it would have been better for u to get a ship out there!

Wow Ian that reminds me of my old local pub the Kings Head, used to get flooded out regularly so we had Tshirts printed up with Kings head watersports emblazoned all over the front...It looked just like your Pic with cars in the background and signs and stuff....he he ...:)

Reminds me of Southport whan the tide came in :) ... no we have a wall. :D

There was a seriously bad weather system making it's way down the country on Saturday so that amount of rainfall doesn't surprise me the least, had everyone going crazy on the weather forum i visit.

Radar was displaying white patches near there Ian, white being worse than the usual red on the radar, they had tornado watches out etc... as the storm system moved down the country.

Is it alright if i link the weather guys into that pic Ian? Think they'd like to see it :)

The rain was really quite incredible, I've never seen anything like it. I felt really sorry for all the shop owners etc who had their premises flooded!

More like Monsoon rains in the South Asia!

Recently there was heavy rain in Mumbai where over 1000 people were killed.

I knew you'd say that Postill, i've only just been able to afford some weather gear, first thing was lightning detector, maps lightning within a 300mile radius.

Tis pretty cool :)
