Safely remove icon is missing

hi

Just upgrade to XPe SP3.
cannot see this icon.
check and found the USB drive becomes a fixed drive.

how can I switch this back?

Hello Sean,

Yes, I do have that component in the build.
The behavior becomes wierd.
It works with my USB card reader, but not with my USB external 2.5" HDD, and
sometimes with my USB pen drive (Kingston 1GB flash drive).

This never happened before the upgrad to SP3.

Do you have USB 2.0 Boot component in the image.

I had a problem where the first USB flash drive I had was coming up as
fixed, the second was removable.

It came down to having the latest usbstor.sys which I didn't want. I
believe it was 35kbytes. I replaced it with the 26kb version and all was
well again.

Yes, this approach actually resolved the USB drive issue.

Actually, I built several platform with different hardware config.\
There is no such an issue with 945GM+ICH7 platform, but it came right up
with 965GME+ICH8 platform.
Perhaps it was the problem from the ICH8 (South Bridge) component which I
imported.

Hello Tim:

make sure that your image has follow component :

1. Safely Remove Hareware Program
2. Tray Icon Add/Remove Support
3. USB Mass Storage Device

check "Show Notification on Task bar" in component "User Interface Core"
