I just installed an hp printer through the usb port and
now I have a tray icon that says "safely remove hardware"
is this going to stay there whenever I have the printer
on or is there some way to turn it off?

Ok, thanks. It suggested that I just make it hide always
and that's what I did. Thanks again.

I read this with interest, thanks, but it only works if you have the
hide inactive icons option selected for the tray. I *prefer* not to use
this option because I like to be able to see at a glance that I've got
my "web protection software" enabled and functioning [even if it *is*
currently idle] - especially before going on line.

This thing, to me, is a waste of tray space. Is there another option,
please?
