ran a scan using ad-aware(free version) says there are 9 "critical objects"
(malware) 5 of those are registry keys. what should i do?

I would delete them but select the option to back up before you delete just
in case a registry entry is for something you need which you would know when
it does not work right though I would tend to think that most likely is not
the case. Some people apparently do use Gator, Comet Cursor, etc. ---

thank you for your reply, i will try what you have suggested. what is
"Gator", "Comet Cursor" ? (sorry if its a stupid question i am doing my best
trying to learn about/how to use my computer(30 yrs and this is not only my
fist computer its also first in even using one).

Those are programs that some people use that are flagged as spyware by most
spyware detection programs. --- Steve

Have you not considered going to the ad-aware web site to learn more? Or,
studying the help files?
