Hello I recently unpacked my machine from storage, (3 months) and now it
wont boot to SAFE mode , it just hangs after awhile. It also will not
complete a disk check ( scan) any Ideas are welcome as there is a bunch of
trash that needs to come off it TIA Joe

If it's just trash you need to get rid off then you could
simply format the hard disk. You get a format option
during the Win2000 installation process.

Thanx for the quick response, how ever I'd like to get rid of the trash
without having to re-install everything else if possible

I get the impression that your primary aim is not really
to get rid of the trash on the disk but to restore Windows
to its normal operation.

Performing a Repair Installation is probably your best
bet. Boot the machine with your Win2000 CD, then
select "Repair" when prompted.

If you haven't used the machine in some time, before doing anything
else, I would remove/replace all plug-in boards, memory, cpu etc and all
connectors. Doesn't take that long and can fix a flakey machine on the spot.
