does this mean if i get into this option i will have internet access whilst
in safe mode or just network capabilities?

Hi Steve,

That would depend on how you access the internet. As Wesley pointed out, you
won't have access if you're on dialup, and I'm not certain about DSL.
However, if you have cable access, where you need not dialup or invoke an
Access Manager, you should be able to access the internet. In fact, to test
this theory about cable access, I am currently in Safe Mode with Networking
and am able to access the internet.

Hi Patti;

I stand corrected. I also have cable. I tested your theory too.
I could get internet access also. In my case; AV did not load (AVG),
Firewall did not start (Zone Alarm).

Something to be aware of.

Hi Wesley,

I thought the same thing as you, originally, and my curiosity got the better
of me, that's why I had to test it out. As with you, my AV didn't load nor
did ZoneAlarm. AV not loading disabled my ability to connect to POP3 server
in order to d/load email (I could change the settings, of course, so that
email wasn't filtered thru the AV "proxy" and was able to retrieve). You're
right, though, that is definitely a major thing to bear in mind if one uses
the Safe Mode with Networking.
