Safe Mode with Command Prompt

After selecting the "Safe Mode with Command Prompt" (F8)
Windows starts and asks for my user name and password, I
enter the password that I use at the normal start-up. I
receive a message that my user name and password is
invalid. How can I get past this?

Are you trying to log into a domain account? If the computer is in Safe
Mode, it probably won't be able to access any network-based accounts.

Just one possibility.
