Safe mode start up for windows xp

Reboot your computer while holding down the F8 Key.
At the Advanced Options Menu, select the option for
Safe Mode and press Enter.

Hit F8 at boot just as WinXP begins to load.

Boot up your pc and as the bios details appear, i.e., memory check etc (this
is just text on your screen) repeatedly press F8. Now by repeatedly i mean
tap, tap, tap. Do not simply hold the key down. A text menu should appear.
Select Safe Mode from the menu. This option should be at the top of the
menu.
