I have a Canon S300 that is most perplexing. Surely someone out here knows
the answer. When I print any text only document every 3 rd line has parallel
lines within that line where it doesn't print. But when I print any graphic
it doesn't skip anything. Cleaned printhead and contacts. Printing nozzle
check gives missed lines in middle of black. Any ideas? Thanks, David

Clogged or inoperative nozzels in the black.

Black works with graphics/photos because it is a "composite black", which
means it mixes the CMY ink to make black, rather than use the black cart
(which IIRC, is pigment, with the colors being dye).

Add to that the fact that typicaly speaking you have more black
pigmented nozzles than colored ones, in the case of the s300 320 black
128 color, typicaly 3x the length of the color ones.

But keep in mind that thermal printheads do burn out.
