My screen saver seems to take power away from my cpu when im playing mp3's.. ie slows down their playback when im doing errands around the house and such. I want to keep the screen saver going to prevent any screen burning .. whatever its called, but allow my mp3s to play at a normal speed. Its a brand new computer, amd athlon 2.7, 512 mb ram, sound blaster live 5.1.. etc.. screen savers shouldnt be messin with the playback
thanks alot!!

Hi, "Screen Burn-in" happens when one image is left on the PC screen for an
extended amount of time. A screensaver would also cause this. The best bet
for you would be to just turn off the monitor when playing music. If the
monitor is off "burn-in" can not happen.

If you really want a screen saver choose one that doesn't have 3D animation
or alot of graphical items in it.

Disable the screen saver. They serve no useful purpose in modern PCs.
