what do you all think about this man ?

Mans body with a mind of a pre pubescent 11 year old.

No offence intended towards 11 year olds.

I do recall some rotund fella with dark curly hair and bright jackets being on the TV when last I watched TV over ten years ago but seriously, all those references mean nowt to me.

Yes, I know, I could Google, but I'm really not in a position to offer an opinion on the geezer :)

Oh, hold up, he's that comedian who got in trouble on the Jonathan Ross show for saying he goosed Manuel's daughter.

Bing! :D

I've only seen him in the St. Trinians film, I've never seen his comedy act so I don't know.

Now, who's that astrologer I'm thinking of?

Russell Grant Flops. :)

Brand is a funny guy, odd, but funny.

2 mods think he is "Funny" but "Odd" and he "Goosed" ???

Everyone else :)

I have mixed views...He can be funny, but I don't agree with what him and Ross did...Or what he did a while back by calling the Old Bill andtold them he had seen a known and wanted rapist in town..Thats just sic, and personaly I would have given him a bl**dy good hoofing for that....

You northerner's not familiar with the term 'Goosed'?

You know, how can we put this delicately on a family forum?

Um, knee-trembler? Rumpy-pumpy?

Careful

;)

So now we know he is a "Bit of a knob" & "Should be sacked and strung up" enough said!!;)

Not in that context. I always thought that it was simply pinching someone's derriere. :)

As to Brand, I just can't warm to him, especially after the escapade with Ross.

I've gone for 'bit of a knob'.

Haven't met him, but a few friends have and gave me that impression.
Also his highly reported exploits over recent years give me that feeling.
Beyond all of that for a 'comedian' i don't think he's particularly funny.

If Brand is rated as a "comedian" then what were the likes of Morcombe and Wise, Tommy Cooper,Frankie Howard ect,etc branded as?

historian:confused:

Dead :D

Sorry, couldn't resist :D

This got me to thinking, which current comedians are good?

I was raised to Morecombe and Wise et al, they were good, but there some real bad ones about too, I'm thinking Jimmy Tarbuck and Bob Monkhouse for a start.

I liked The Young Ones, French & Saunders, Absolutely Fabulous, Lenny Henry and I think Ricky Gervais is very funny.

And I knew malcolm Hardee who died a few years back, he championed live Comedy and the club he started just down the road from me - Up The Creek - is still going strong.

I have seen some very risque and politically uncorrect comedians in my time, Jimmy Jones springs to mind, but they made me laugh. There is one who falls in that category, however, who I can't stand - Jim Davidson.

I remember him from round here when he was young, mate of mine had a fight with him once and gave him a good beating :D He did deserve it though, but that's another story ;)
