As you have discovered, one of the problems is opening the correct
version of MS Access for each MDB/MDE. When you double click on an
MDB/MDE it will open the default (or last used) version of Access
which is not always what you want.
You may like to try this shareware utility:
ACCVER - Allows you to work with
multiple versions of MS Access databases.
Detects the version of Access used to create
your MDB, MDE or MDA files and either reports
the version number or starts the appropriate
version of MS Access.
An additional option allows you to compact
the database from a right-click menu item.

Hello,
In our PC I have runtime version of Access 2000 and Office
97 installed. When I double clicked an mde file it opens
97 not 2000, how can I arrange it?
Thanks,
Jim.
