Runtime error

Hi All,

I am experiencing a runtime error with Windows Messenger version 4.7.0101
Runtime message box shows the following:-
Runtime error!
Program: C:\Program Files\Messenger\msmsgs.exe

R6025
-pure virtual function call.

Searched the Microsoft website but could find nothing.

Any ideas would be much appreciated.

Well I'll laugh anyway ... Yahoo messenger had the very same problem a while back ... you probably have a corrupted file, Windows is good at that.

Why are you using messenger 4 ?


Oh, a "runtime error" is something the programmer put in but hasn't a clue how to fix it ...

Thanks for replying. It's my mistake I'm actually using Messenger Version 7.5. These error messages are driving me crazy.

Uninstall then re-install. Sounds like a bit of corruption somewhere.

Sounds like a problem with that dirty default version that lives there after an xp install. Either

a) goto CMD -> Msconfig -> Startup -> and tick it off the list
or
b) goto CMD -> Regedit -> Delete that suckers reg entry.
