A lady friend is plagued with a problem I can't resolve.
She's got Windows ME with IE6 and OE6, whenevr she 'needs' to install
something like Macromedia's Flash or Sun's Java she gets:

Runtime Error in C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe R6025
pure virtual function call

I've re-installed IE6 and OE6 - to no avail.

Can anybody supply any good ideas? Please.

Hi Mikey :-)

Not sure on this but try the following and see if it helps:

What are they doing when they get this error? If they have any 3rd party
toolbars such as Google, MSN or Yahoo, disable them. Any 3rd party popup or
Flash blockers, disable them. If they have SpywareBlaster there is a Flash
killer in the Tools section. Make sure it is Unchecked. Some Pop-up
blockers will block Flash unless you turn it off. Check to see if there is
a Kill Flash setting, and if so, disable it, as some Flash has pop-ups and
the blockers will see them as ads or and kill it any way.

Check the firewall to see if the ad-blocker or Flash blocker is set to on or
block.

Also...uninstall and reinstall the Macromedia

Disable the Script Debugger in IE

http://www.sureshotsoftware.com/articles/scripterrors.html

or…

Go to Tools>Internet Options>Advanced.
Check the box to "Disable script debugging."
Uncheck the box to "Display a notification about every script error."

Hope this helps.

Hi Jan,

Thanks a lot, it took a while throwing everything out of the register but I
got there in the end.
