Hi, all! I have a couple boxes that just started giving the users Runtime
(C++) errors no launch (XP/Pro, SP2, latest patches). Nothing has changed
on any of the machines since the error started, but I'm wondering if the
problem is related to the issue in Q884538: Version of MSVCIRT 7.0 causing
problems?

Anyone know where I can download a copy of the patch mentioned in the
article? This patch replaces the existing MSVCIRT.DLL 7.0.2600 with a later
build (7.0.2600.2534), so I'm hoping it'll fix this error...

Thanks!
Jack

Hi,
The Google toolbar has been causing C++ Runtime errors recently.
Reinstalling the toolbar should fix it.

If not caused by the Google toolbar, another third-party program (possibly
malware- possibly legitimate) is causing it.

Malware help:
Start by downloading and running CWShredder, Ad-aware and Spybot. Check for
updates before running Ad-aware or Spybot.
See: http://mvps.org/winhelp2002/unwanted.htm
Also note the security tips and other important information on that page.

Hi Jack,

FYI, I have exactly the same problem and I am running W98, IE6 SP@, latest
patches. I also fund another communication by doiremccloskey in the IEAK 6
discussion group-- none of the remedys suggested in that correspondence
worked for me.

I tried to remove IE6 but couldn't. Nevertheless, I downlodaed a fresh
version of IE6 and installed it. No help.

I would appreciate hearing from you if you found a solution.

Don,

I saw your post after I replied to Jack with a plea for help. Per your
advice, I uninstalled the Google bar and presto--the problem solved.

You are a champ! Thanks,

nevenk

Re-installing the Google T-Bar seemed to do it for me...thanks for solving a
2 day headache....I had run Spy-Boot, System Restore several times, and no
luck. But thanks to the Great Varnau, I am Run Time Error free!!! Now if
Google would just make the T-Bar in a chocolate covered, marshmellow centered
version, I would be happy.
