Runtime error (LONG)

During one of the MS Hotfix/Updates (not sure of which one
as I have had several), I can no longer view webpages
correctly. I get an error of 'Runtime error has occured,
do you wish to debug?" Searching MS knowledge base only
shows how to 'turn off the notification', but there are
STILL errors and cannot view the page correctly. I have
searched the help section, but would rather have IE6.0
work correctly (as it did when I got this), now, the
settings have changed so much I would just rather
downgrade to Netscape and be rid of IE6. Any help is
appreciated. Please post reply here as (obviously) the
email address is incorrect.

From http://www.fjsmjs.com/IE/scriptdb.htm

Go to Tools | Internet Options | Advanced.
Check the box to Disable script debugging.
Uncheck the box to Display a notification about every script error.

You might want to refresh your scripting engine:

Frank - thanks for the quick reply. New scripting engine
installed, no help. Call me stupid, but if I disable
script debugging, how is the new script engine to work? Or
is it just a different animal all together?

The debug window appears when the script fails in the engine. In the case
you describe it's an actual error in the script. If you disable script
debugging it prevents the debug window from appearing and since the script
is on the Web page, you can't debug it anyway.

Hey, Frank (et al). I am having the same problem as Wayne. I have already disabled script debugging. That does stop the notification, but pages still load with errors, as evidenced by "Done but with errors on page" in the status bar in IE

I have updated to MS Script 5.6 and done the JScript 5.6 security update. No change. I have run Adaware and Spybot S&D with all updates, multiple times. I have stopped Norton AV Script Blocking and all of Spybot's protection services. I have stopped ZoneAlarm. I have eliminated all corrupt or otherwise useless/unknown objects in the downloaded program files folder. Nothing makes a difference

Now the weird part. Other user accounts on this machine are not affected. My wife's user account doesn't experience the errors. With debugging on, she doesn't get the error message when visiting the same pages. With it off, pages load normally with no notification of errors in the status bar

I'm COMPLETELY stumped.

Please, anyone! Help!
