Runtime error...invalid character

How do I stop this annoying runtime error message? When I
click on a web page I get one or more error messages
stating that there is an invalid character in line 1? How
do I fix the problem?

Go to Tools | Internet Options | Advanced.
Check the box to Disable script debugging.
Uncheck the box to Display a notification about every script error.
