runtime error during browsing

I’m using IE 6.0.2800.1106.xpsp2.030422-1633 and am
having a problem with “Runtime Error” messages when I
browse many websites, such as www.washingtonpost.com

The error states:

“A Runtime Error has occurred.
Do you wish to Debug?”

For this example (they vary)

“Line: 1058
Error: ‘headlines’ is undefined”

It’s usually a different error message, but always a
runtime error.

I tried to download the current version of IE, but when
installing it I get the message:

“Setup has detected a newer version of IE already
installed on this system. Setup cannot continue.” I am
unable to remove IE from installed programs as it is not
listed under the Add/Remove Program under the control
panel. Basically I’ve run out of options. It’s very
frustrating having this pop up every time I go to a new
webpage. Any guidance would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Davin

From http://www.fjsmjs.com/IE/scriptdb.htm

Go to Tools | Internet Options | Advanced.
Check the box to Disable script debugging.
Uncheck the box to Display a notification about every script error.

You might want to refresh your scripting engine:
