I can not open IE. I get a runtime error to iexplorer.exe and says the error
causes the Runtime to terminate the program in an unusual way. I'm looking
to now either a) fix the program or b) re-install IE. I've installed
Firefox, but when I try to install IE, I'm told i need IE 5.0 or later for
upgrades. So as I don't have any working IE, I can't download a new working
version of IE. What should I do?

Thanks

Try uninstalling "Google toolbar" from Control Panel -> Add/Remove programs.
Reboot.

Didn't help. Google toolbar was not on the system until I installed Foxfire
2 hours ago. By the way, if its important, I'm using Windows 98. The
computer doesn't even let me do windows updates - it gives the same Runtime
error to iexplorer.exe. I did find some virus' earlier so perhaps that was
the original problem - this is my folks computer that I'm trying to fix.
I've also run all the spyware programs. Now just trying to re-install or fix
IE

Thanks
