I have 2 XP users set up and have created an e-mail account for each with
outlook. When i switch from one user to the other the following message
appears and I hav e to close Outlook: Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library
Runtime error Program: C:\etc\outlook.exe abnormal program termination.
Outlook will reopen and work then but its a bit of a nuisance to do this all
the time. I am running Norton Internet Security - could this be producing the
fault?

Thanks Andreas
Not read this but sounds like a conflict with Norton possibly
I have Outlook 2000 so will see what comes up if I try what has been suggested

Howard / Andreas -
If I read the original post correctly, I'm seeing exactly
the same issue (which I posted separately this morning).
The article you reference cites the same error message,
but doesn't address the same situation.
Specifics in my case:
Outlook 2003, with Norton Internet Security (therefore
Norton AntiSpam) and Franklin Covey PlanPlus add-ins
installed.
Two separate profiles, pointed at two separate PST files.

The error occurs in the following situation:
a) Had Outlook open with one profile, then closed it.
b) Opened Outlook and selected the other profile.
After (b), Outlook opens successfully, but in the course
of setting up its command bars, it hits the runtime
error. Clicking the "OK" drops out of Outlook.
Can then reopen Outlook (no prompt for profile, oddly
enough), but at that point it complains about a serious
error with the Norton AntiSpam add-in.

Howard - does this correspond to the issue you're seeing?
Maybe between us we can characterize this and get clearer
direction on how to get rid of the problem.
Thanks -
Brian
