Using a dell computer with windows xp home, internet
explorer v 6. Yesterday my niece got a error message
when online as follows. Runtime error 5 at 020b729c.
after searching here and other areas have been unable to
determine what this is. The error message box now opens
when windows starts (actually get two separate boxes with
the same error message) am unable to use computer unless
i close one box. (If both boxes are closed the desktop
dissappears and returns with two error boxes)Today i did
more searching and tried the following ideas. I ran a
spyware program and detected few programs (just
doubleclick) and deleted those programs. I closed port
135 (was getting a pop up ad which wouldn't go away) made
sure internet explorers firewall is up and running.
disabled messenger service. at this time i am no longer
getting the popup ad (i think disabling messenger service
took care of that) but the original error message is
still there with one difference it now reads runtime
error 5 at 00f0729c. anyone have any ideas on what to do
next.

thanks

sarah
