ok I have a database (actually multiple databases) that was working
just fine last week. This week when I go to try and run a report, i
get the following error....

Runtime Error '2501' The OpenReport action was cancelled

Now here's the two weird things...

1) The data has not changed at all since last week. (and yes there is
data in there that would populate the reports.)

2) There are 3 users that use this database on a shared network
drive....myself, user 2 and user 3. Myself and user2 are having
identical problems trying to run the reports, while user3 has no
problems whatsoever. She can run things perfectly as always. None of
us are ever in the database at the same time (or can be for that
matter) so why is user3 not having any problems while myself and
user2 are?

Can anyone help out? I'm just stumped. all of the threads that I've
read regarding this issue are of no help to me.

Thanks ahead of time.

ok never mind....I found the issue. I read this on another forum but
didn't really think it applied to me.

anyway for some reason Access did not like the default printer
settings that I had and wouldn't even open my reports (in design view
or any other way) so I changed my default printer to another one and
it worked fine. so ultimately when I changed my default back to the
one that I wanted it still did not work. What I ended up doing was
changing the print settings from "Best Quality" to "600 DPI" and it
seems to work just fine. Dont' ask me why, but it does.

Do you have a default printer designated in the Windows Control Panel? Have
you tried defining other default printers? Are your printer drivers up to
date?
