running total

Hello,

I have a month field and a Sales field. is there a way to make a running
total field based on Sales so that each month the new field is a YTD sales?

Running totals are a PITA due to the fact that they must be constantly
updated whenever anything changes. It is easier to perform the sums in a
query or report, or export the data to Excel for more advanced data
analysis.
