Running Scheduled Tasks

Is there any way that I can run defrag every day through scheduled tasks in
WindowsXP? I have tried several different things and none have worked. I
have been able to pull up the defrag program but it will not start without
selecting manually the defrag button.

That's way overkill. Nobody needs to defrag that often. How often
to defrag depends on your usage patterns, but something like once
a month is more typically what you need.
