Toby

I have a starnge problem, I'm trying to run several Powerpoint slideshow
within the same browser session one after the other. To do this I drag and
drop a shortcut link to the first presentation into the Address bar, this
advances and loops according to the timings in the presentation. If I then
drag and drop a link to a second presentation this only advances to the
second slide and then stops?? Why?? If I then drag and drop first link
this now only gets to slide 2 and then stops?

How can I get them to advance and loop? I have IE5.5 and MS Powerpoint 2000
SR-1.

Any replies please email me at (remove XXX first!)

Thanks

Toby,

Using the Quick Launch bar to run presentations is a rather "unique" way to
run them. If you wanted to integrate a number of presentations, I would
recommend either looping them from a single interface, or using the new
viewer and running a batch file to make them show, one after the other:

Thanks for the reply but we have a program which loop through a directory
displaying any *.pps slideshows one after another in a browser window. This
is when I first noticed the problem. Using the program on another machine
with Office 97 and IE 5.5 sp2 the problem does not occur so I can only guess
that it's a problem with Powerpoint 2000 in the browser.

Hey Toby,

Schlumberger? I know them.... Cool!!! Hey, welcome Toby! You are in the
right place!

I felt you first said something about drag and drop to a short cut? That
means to me: click on a file and *drag* it somewhere. Anyway, maybe it is
the program you speak of. There are ways to loop files in amazing ways, and
you don't need a custom program. What is the program, and what does it do?

I can simulate the same fault using VB 6 and a WebBrowser control on a form
and using a timer to automatically load PPS into WebBrowser. Strangly when
the VB IDE is running fault does not occur it only happens when I run the
compiled EXE with IDE project closed.

This is definatly a funny with Powerpoint as the other machine does not have
this problem.
