running power point as the inactive application

I am using ppt to run a digital sign on a PC with dual monitor output.
I would like to be able to run other applications on my PC (I have two
monitors) while the power point presentation continues to run on the same
machine but using the second monitor (the digital sign).
Can anyone tell me what I need to do to make this happen.
Currently if I use the PC for other work powerpoint will pause until it is
made the active application again. It can be minimized and will still run but
as soon as I go to another application it will pause again until I return to
power point.

allows you to run slide show on secondary monitor while you continue to work
on the primary monitor.
