seems to me that a lot of people are having trouble with
running win95/98 games on win2000. well sad to say i am as
well. can anyone offer a solution (if indeed there is one)
to this problem?

The best solution is to create a dual boot system with Win98/ME and Win2K.

The complete removal of MS-DOS from Win2K is generally the cause of most
app failure that I've come across... that and anything that didn't work
under NT4 generally won't run under NT5 (which is WinXP, 2K and 2K3).

Although I will have to say the "compatibility mode" solves about 60-70%
of my issues under Win2k3. You just have to learn how to configure
the memory settings.

where do I find the patch giving me the compatibility mode--and what amI
looking for..

OUAT-several yrs ago, I had found something that allowed w95 games in win
2k; havent found it lately..

unfortunately, doesnt seem to work for me-- too many files/ dll's are
screwy; and dont want to install DirectX5 today...
