we want to switch to native mode on AD
is there a problem if you have still some exchange 5.5
running on NT4 and other servers on windows 2003 running
exchange 2003??
then switching the network to native Active directory but
still keeping the NT4 server with their exchange 5.5?
none of them are BDCs
thanks
is anyone doing it?

Anon!

Strictly speaking from a WIN2000 perspective, as long as the Exchange Server
5.5 is running on a WINNT 4 Member Server then there should not be any
problems at all. I assume this to be the case as you explicitly stated that
there are no NT 4 BDC's.

I am not completely familiar with WIN2003 and Exchange 2003 so I can not
speak to that part of your question. My educated guess would be that
switching to WIN2000 Native Mode should not affect your WIN2003 servers (
either Server or Exchange ) as making the switch from WIN2000 Mixed Mode to
WIN2000 Native Mode essentially affects one thing and one thing alone: the
ability or inability to have WINNT 4.0 BDCs. As you are most probably
aware, in Mixed Mode you may have WINNT 4 BDCs and in Native Mode you many
not have WINNT 4 BDCs.

Cary
